About Handwriting Repeater
Handwriting Repeater is a free online tool for anyone who wants neater, more confident handwriting: pupils, parents, teachers and adults. You write or type a line, and the tool writes it again stroke by stroke, so you can watch, trace and copy it.
Why we made it
Most online "handwriting generators" print a handwriting font onto a page. It looks fine at a glance, but it can't show how a letter is formed, and every line looks the same. We wanted a tool that works like a real pen. It draws letters in stroke order, adds the small differences you see in real handwriting, and can repeat your own handwriting instead of someone else's.
How it works
- Single-line letters. Each handwriting style stores letters as the path a pen takes. That's how the tool can animate the way a letter is formed.
- Small, natural differences. Typed text varies slightly in size, position and angle from letter to letter, so the lines don't look copied and pasted.
- Your own handwriting. Repeat My Writing copies a line you wrote yourself down the page. Your writing stays in your browser.
- Real pages. Writing is laid out on A4 landscape pages with proper margins, so what you see on screen is what prints.
Our principles
- Free, with no account. Every feature is open to everyone.
- Private. Nothing you type or draw is uploaded.
- Honest. We make tools for practice. If a school asks for handwritten work, pupils should use the tool as a model and do the writing themselves.
Credits
The handwriting styles use the EMS single-stroke fonts by Sheldon B. Michaels, converted by Windell H. Oskay of Evil Mad Scientist Laboratories (SIL Open Font License), and the Hershey Script font by Dr A. V. Hershey (public domain). PDF export uses jsPDF (MIT licence).
